who are the 'friends'?

The "Friends of the Bellevue Avenue Library" group was formed in 2010 when the historic Bellevue Avenue Library of Upper Montclair was closed, leaving a community without access to the books, movies, newspapers, and magazines on which they had depended on for nearly 96 years.

The structure lay dormant for months. After a tireless campaign, the Friends' group succeeded in re-opening the library, and have acted as the institution's caregivers, advocates, and watchdogs ever since.
